Jerusalem, 20 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Since the return to fighting in the Gaza Strip after a brief ceasefire that ended in March, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has achieved operational control over approximately 75% of the territory of the Gaza Strip, senior terror leaders and more than 2,100 terrorists have been eliminated, five divisions have maneuvered simultaneously, two main roads have been paved and approximately 10,000 targets have been attacked
Operational control over the territory allowed the IDF to significantly expand its activities, thereby damaging the capabilities and terrorist infrastructure of the Hamas terrorist organization and disrupting its chain of command.
In addition, the IDF established two control axes through Gaza:
“Moraj” axis – a central axis that dissects the Rafah and Khan Yunis divisions.
“Magen Oz” axis – a central axis that dissects the Khan Yunis division from east to west.
