Israeli farms near Gaza to receive $2.7 million for post-war rehabilitation. Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and Tekoma Directorate to restore
Jerusalem, 30 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Tekoma Directorate will provide NIS 9 million ($2.7 million) to restore agricultural lands near the Gaza border damaged during the war. Extensive military activity during the conflict severely harmed soil structure, fertility, and crop growth, with some fields inaccessible for routine maintenance. The funding will support rehabilitation efforts and compensate farmers for restoration expenses.
The ministry said damage mapping carried out last year identified key issues, including soil erosion, topsoil destruction, and compaction.
