Israeli Defense Ministry Buys New Fleet of Hummers to Boost Ground Forces

Jerusalem, 20 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Defense Ministry has signed a NIS 500 million ($148.7 million) deal with U.S. company AM General to supply the Israel Defense Forces with hundreds of Hummer light mobility vehicles for ground forces.

The new Hummers will serve in multiple roles—transporting troops, evacuating wounded, supporting logistics and communications, and carrying out special missions. Designed for rugged terrain, the vehicles can carry over 10 soldiers, feature firepower capabilities, and are valued for their durability and ease of maintenance.

The first deliveries are expected later this year.
