Israeli Citizen Arrested for Funneling Money to Terror Under Guise of Aiding Gaza’s Children

Jerusalem, 25 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities revealed that Ahmed Diab, a 36-year-old resident of the northern Arab city Tamra, was arrested in June on suspicion of committing security offenses related to contact with a foreign agent and aiding a terrorist organization, under the guise of donations to the children of Gaza.

During a search of his home in Tamra, authorities found a sum of money totaling over 70,000 Shekels ($20,000) in cash and hundreds of US dollars, all of which were seized.

The police said its investigation revealed that, for several months, the accused had allegedly been in contact and even met physically with a “middleman,” a resident of the Palestinian Authority, originally a resident of Gaza, and through him he transferred large sums of money totaling approximately one and a half million Shekels ($450,000) throughout the period, to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, under the guise of “donations to the children of Gaza,” while knowing that there was a connection between the middleman and an operative in the terrorist organization.
