Israeli astronaut Eytan Stibbe appointed Chancellor of International Space University, strengthening ties between global space institution and Israeli space sector.
Jerusalem, 21 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The International Space University (ISU) has appointed Israeli astronaut and entrepreneur Eytan Stibbe as its new Chancellor (President Emeritus).
Stibbe, a former fighter pilot and the second Israeli to fly in space, was unanimously elected by ISU’s Board of Trustees and will serve a three-year term. His appointment is expected to deepen ties between the global space institution and the Israeli space sector. Based in Strasbourg, France, ISU is a leading hub for space education and interdisciplinary training. Israeli alumni already number over 150, and Stibbe’s new role is seen as a boost for innovation and international collaboration.
