Jerusalem, 28 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli Agency COGAT (Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories) slammed the non-governmental organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) for making what it said were false allegations that Israel is preventing food from getting through to people in Gaza.
“WCK and other agencies and organizations were provided a number of alternative routes for the pickup of aid from the crossing,” said COGAT. “We’ve also made adjustments on the ground for the aid to be picked up, to facilitate aid distribution. The aid was not picked up by your decision.”
“Over 400 trucks are waiting to be picked up and distributed,” it added. “The majority contain food that can get ruined in the sun. Let’s work together to get the aid to the people who need it, and not to Hamas!”
In a Twitter post, WCK stated that it “still cannot bring desperately needed aid into Gaza. While the IDF has allowed some WCK trucks into the Kerem Shalom crossing, this aid is being held just inside the border and the IDF has not yet provided safe routes for bringing the supplies to our kitchens. The trucks you see here are the latest that were denied entry. We are ready to begin cooking again as soon as we can.”
