Israel to Shutdown 2G and 3G Cellular Networks
Israel's Minister of Communications announces shutdown of 2G and 3G networks by December 31, 2025. Devices must support 4G from January 1, 2026.
Jerusalem, 19 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — According to the decision of Israel’s Minister of Communications, on December 31, 2025, the old 2nd (2G) and 3rd (3G)generation cellular networks will be permanently closed.
Starting January 1, 2026, it will not be possible to use devices that do not support 4th generation.
This is relevant to cellular telephones, home medical monitoring equipment, panic buttons, alarm buttons, and equipment that operates on cellular networks.
