Jerusalem, 18 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel will send urgent humanitarian aid to South Sudan, responding to the country’s worsening crisis, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced while hosting South Sudanese Foreign Minister Semaya Kumba in jerusalem on Monday.

The aid, coordinated by Mashav, Israel’s national aid agency, will include medical equipment, water purification systems, gloves, face masks, hygiene kits, and food packages to help combat a cholera outbreak and severe resource shortages. Mashav will work alongside Israeli NGO IsraAid on the operation.

The humanitarian situation is further strained by refugees fleeing the conflict in neighboring Sudan.

Israel stands by its friends in their difficult times,” Sa’ar said.
