Jerusalem, 17 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications opens the way for private 5G cellular networks, for the first time frequencies will be allocated to new players who will operate locally.
The Ministry said that new regulations “set favorable entry conditions and particularly low fees, 1,333 Shekels ($401), a one-time payment for a 5-year license period) for the allocation of frequencies in areas such as 2,100 MHz, 3,500 MHz and 26 GHz.”
This move, known as the “5G band” Innovation” is designed to reduce barriers to entry, encourage investment and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies in the Israeli economy, while focusing on private networks that are limited to a defined geographical area, as opposed to national public networks.
