Jerusalem, 28 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Natural Gas Authority of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure published the review of the natural gas economy for 2024, which shows a significant increase of over 9% in Israeli natural gas consumption in 2024. Also, consumption in the domestic economy increased by 5.6% and exports increased by 13% in the past year.
Of this, approximately 13.9 BCM were supplied to the local economy, an increase of approximately 5.6% compared to the previous year, and the remainder, approximately 13.2 BCM, were exported to Egypt and Jordan, an increase of approximately 13.3% compared to 2023. This, alongside price and supply stability in the local economy in the face of the energy crisis taking place worldwide and the war in Israel.
The “Leviathan” reservoir, the largest of Israel’s reservoirs, produced approximately 11.3 BCM in 2024, compared to 11.1 BCM in 2023, and the “Tamar” reservoir produced approximately 10.1 BCM in 2024, compared to 9.1 BCM the previous year.
The “Karish-Tanin” reservoir produced approximately 5.8 BCM in 2024, compared to 4.6 BCM in 2023. Throughout the entire period of fighting in the south and north, all the needs of the Israeli natural gas economy were met in a stable manner, and the country’s energy security was maintained.
