Jerusalem, 27 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security presents for the first time the plan to promote organic agriculture in Israel.
The organic market is experiencing global growth. Around the world, there are approximately 1 billion dunams cultivated using organic methods, with the global organic market developing particularly in Europe and the US. Alongside this, there are other countries where the organic market is growing, such as China. The volume of organic sales increased from €15 billion in 2000 to €136.4 billion in 2023.
Due to the health and environmental benefits of organic agriculture, which are reflected in the global trend of investment in the field and increased consumption, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is working to increase local organic production and is publishing a large-scale strategic plan to promote it. This is what organic agriculture will look like in 2035.
The strategic plan for the promotion of organic agriculture, which was written in collaboration with the organization for organic agriculture in Israel, “Tov Hasade”, is part of the State of Israel’s national food security plan. As part of the review carried out for the plan, it was found that eight out of the ten countries surveyed have a plan Food security, there is also a companion program to promote organic agriculture.
