Israel Prison Services Reminds Public Flying Drones Near Prisons Is Prohibited

Israel Prison Services reminds public: Flying drones near prisons is prohibited. Civil Aviation Authority regulations define prisons as no-fly zones. Keep your distance!

Jerusalem, 3 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Prison Services (IPS) reminded the public to, “keep your distance and don’t fly drones (unmanned aerial vehicles/ UAVs) near prison facilities.

According to Civil Aviation Authority regulations, prisons and IPS facilities are defined as a no-fly zones.

Drones or any unmanned aerial vehicles may not be flown within 1-2 kilometers of IPS facilities, except for the Shikma facility – where the minimum distance is 500 meters.

There are no exceptions – unless you have received prior written permission.

In addition, it is prohibited to fly drones and unmanned aerial vehicles within 1 km of events where Prison Service aircraft are operating.
