Israel Organic Farming Sees Drop in Growers, Rise in Factories

Israel's organic agriculture saw a 3% decrease in permit holders in 2024, with 686 registered. Organic growers dropped 21% while organic factories increased.

Jerusalem, 30 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security reported on the state of organic agriculture in Israel for 2024.

In 2024, there were about 10,000 acres of organic agricultural areas in Israel, and 686 organic permit holders engaged in organic farming, including: 277 growers, 87 marketers, 79 factories, 61 packing houses, 60 exporters, 105 importers, and 17 input suppliers.

This is a decrease of approximately 3% from the previous year, when 707 growers were registered. Between 2023 and 2024, there was a decrease of approximately 21% in the number of organic growers, alongside a 41% increase in the number of organic factories.
