Jerusalem, 16 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications launched a major push to open the market to private 5G networks, breaking the long-standing dominance of traditional cellular providers. The new “Innovation Band” will allow companies and institutions — including industrial plants, universities, ports, and local authorities — to operate geographically limited 5G networks at low cost.
“We are transferring power from large companies to consumers, removing barriers and inviting entrepreneurs and investors to join the revolution,” said Communications Minister Dr. Shlomo Karhi.
the ministry is also amending regulations to enable access to key frequencies and infrastructure, aiming to accelerate advanced technology adoption and foster smart applications across sectors.
