Israel Launches National Lab to Boost Space Tech for Private Sector
Israel establishes a 60 million shekel national space lab in Mitzpe Ramon, offering discounted services and infrastructure to boost private sector involvement.
Jerusalem, 25 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Space Agency and its Innovation Authority are initiating and funding the establishment of a national research and development laboratory to make space accessible to Israeli technology companies, led by Creation Space and with a budget of 60 million Shekels ($18.7 million).
The new national laboratory will provide discounts of at least 35% of market prices on space launch, testing and development services, will enable the launch of 15 experimental payloads (designated payloads) within three years, and will accompany Israeli companies until the space operation stage.
The laboratory, which will operate in Mitzpe Ramon under the Access to Space brand, will provide, for the first time in Israel, a comprehensive, end-to-end infrastructure for the development, testing, launch and operation of advanced space technologies and will enable companies, startups and research bodies to perform real feasibility testing under space conditions, while dramatically reducing technological, regulatory and economic barriers.
The establishment of the laboratory is expected to bring about a significant leap forward in the Israeli space industry, strengthen the connection between research, industry and commercial application, and drive economic and technological growth in both civilian and defense fields, while positioning Israel at the forefront of global innovation in the space field.
