Israel Launches $14M Program to Strengthen Border and Negev Agriculture

Jerusalem, 25 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security will invest approximately NIS 47 million ($14.3 million) to develop agricultural infrastructure in communities near the Lebanese border and the western Negev. The funds will support water systems, agricultural roads, and, for the first time, educational and research infrastructure for advanced agriculture.

Minister Avi Dichter said the initiative aims to strengthen both rural and urban settlements, including Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi, and Metula, and boost food security nationwide.

Director General Oren Lavie added that the rapid procedure allows local authorities to submit projects directly in early 2026.
