Israel Foils Smuggling of Eggs, Meat, and Vegetables from Palestinian Authority
Israeli authorities foil smuggling attempt of unsupervised eggs, meat, and vegetables from Palestinian Authority. 50,000 eggs transported without refrigeration
Jerusalem, 6 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Agriculture Ministry inspectors working with the Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle 50,000 unsupervised eggs into Jerusalem from the Palestinian Authority, the ministry said. The eggs were transported without refrigeration or veterinary supervision.
In a separate incident, around 250 kg of unsupervised meat and 150 kg of vegetables — all originating from the P.A. — were confiscated from a butcher shop in Bat Yam.
The ministry said all the items would be destroyed due to public health concerns and that criminal proceedings were opened against those responsible.
