Jerusalem, 16 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar spoke Tuesday evening with Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Petr Macinka and congratulated him upon assuming office and on the establishment of the new government under Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

Sa’ar said he told Macinka that Israel sees the Czech Republic as one of “its greatest friends in Europe and in the world, and as a natural partner” and that Israel appreciates the Czech Republic’s “close friendship and consistent support, especially throughout the war (in Gaza).”

“We agreed to work together to further strengthen our close relations and I thanked him for including the commitment to the special relations with Israel in the new government’s guiding principles,” said Sa’ar. “We also discussed the EU and the antisemitic terror attack in Sydney.”
