Israel Falling Behind in Oncology Treatment, Cancer Association Warns

Jerusalem, 11 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Cancer Association has warned that Israel is falling behind other developed countries in oncology treatment and drug access. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, and Acting Health Minister, the association urged the government to allocate a “significant and dedicated” budget increase to the national drug basket.

Association heads Prof. Moshe Mittalman and Moshe Bar-Haim said many breakthrough cancer drugs approved abroad are still unavailable in Israel due to funding limits, widening inequality between patients who can afford private care and those reliant on public coverage. They called the situation a “moral, social and medical gap” that must be urgently addressed.
