Israel Eyes Venture Capital Boost for Defense-Tech Amid War Needs
Israel seeks NIS 200 million state guarantee to launch venture capital funds for defense-tech, enhancing security independence and job creation.
Jerusalem, 10 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Accountant General, in cooperation with the Defense Ministry, has applied to the Knesset Finance Committee for approval of a state guarantee of up to NIS 200 million ($59.9 million) to establish venture capital funds in advanced defense technologies. The initiative aims to create dedicated funds to strengthen Israel’s technological and security independence, boost industrial capacity, and support job creation, particularly in peripheral areas.
Officials said the move responds to both a shortage of venture capital in high-risk defense fields and urgent needs exposed by the war, positioning Israel as a global leader in defense innovation.
