Jerusalem, 26 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced what bit called a “significant easing” of regulations that will contribute to lowering the cost of living. Starting on Monday, the sale of electric heaters will not require marking with a sticker unique to Israel. This means: immediate import of the heaters and timely entry into the market during the winter season.
Until now, anyone who wanted to import an electric heater had to add a unique Israeli marking to it. This marking added additional procedural steps, such as: designing the content of the sticker, its size, adjusting the requirements with a manufacturer in a foreign language (most of them from the Far East), and more.
For a new importer seeking to enter the market, this may cause a delay of about 3 weeks in entering the market and incur unnecessary costs. In addition, once an importer has arranged the procedural stage with a particular manufacturer’s factory, he avoids changing the manufacturer because he does not want to devote additional time to the issue, which may impair his ability to import a product at more attractive costs and damage his bargaining power with the manufacturer, which does not allow the savings to be passed on to the end consumer.
