Jerusalem, 16 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Sunday that troops fired warning shots at UNIFIL soldiers in southern Lebanon’s El Hamames area. No injuries were reported, and the soldiers quickly moved away.
A review determined the individuals were UN personnel conducting a routine patrol and were mistakenly identified as potential threats due to poor weather conditions. The IDF emphasized that no deliberate fire was directed at UN forces and that the incident is being handled through official military liaison channels.
The army reaffirmed its commitment to continue operations aimed at neutralizing any threats to Israel’s security.
