Jerusalem, 19 october, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel has completed the identification of Thai citizen Sonthaya Oakkharasri, whose body was returned from Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office and the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday.

Oakkharasri, 30, was murdered by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and his body was taken to Gaza. He had been working in the orchards of Kibbutz Be’eri. His death was officially confirmed on May 16, 2024.

“The Government of Israel shares in the deep sorrow of the Okarsri family, the Thai people, and all the families of the fallen abductees,” Netanyahu’s office said.
