Israel confirms airstrikes eliminating Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon responsible for attacks on Israel. IDF takes action against terror
Jerusalem, 30 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday it eliminated two senior Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon responsible for artillery attacks against Israel in separate airstrikes on Monday.
Mohammad Abbas Shashoua, in charge of rocket fire from the Sohmor area, directed strikes on Kiryat Shmona and the Golan Heights and was working to rebuild terror infrastructure. Muhammad Hussein Yassin, a senior figure in Hezbollah’s Shaqif artillery unit, oversaw attacks on the Galilee panhandle and smuggled weapons south of the Litani River.
“The terrorist’s activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF said.
