Jerusalem, 24 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña in Asuncion on Monday. Their discussion focused on bolstering bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and regional security, alongside the signing of a memorandum of understanding to promote joint security initiatives.

Sa’ar praised Paraguay’s longstanding support for Israel, highlighting its embassy move to Jerusalem in 2024, backing in international forums, and recognition of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and political wings of Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations.

Paraguayan Foreign Minister Ruben Ramirez Letzkono, Israeli Ambassador Amit Mekel, and Paraguayan Ambassador Alejandro Rubin also attended the meeting, emphasizing the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.
