Jerusalem, 8 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The deputy commander of the beit hanoun Battalion of the Islamic Jihad in Gaza was eliminated in a joint operation carried out by the IDF and the Shin Bet today. This was announced in a shared statement.
“This terrorist planned and directed dozens of attacks against IDF forces in Beit Hanoun, and participated in the 7 October massacre,” the statement explained. It added that the forces had also eliminated the deputy head of the anti-tank unit of the Islamic Jihad’s Gaza City Brigade, as well as several other terrorists from different terrorist organisations in the Strip. The operation relied on intelligence from the Southern Command and the Shin Bet, and was carried out in cooperation with Fire Brigade 990 of Division 99, combat intelligence units, and the Air Force.
