Jerusalem, 29 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The State Attorney’s Office filed an indictment with the Tel Aviv District Court against an American citizen (49), who holds an Israeli passport, accusing him of carrying out “various actions for Iranian elements with the aim of harming the State of Israel.”

Among other things, he allegedly documented the residence of former Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and described the arrangement of forces near the home of the Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir.

The defendant had lived in Morocco in recent years and belonged to the Satmar Hasidism, believing that the existence of the State of Israel contradicts the principles of religion and constitutes “blasphemy.” Based on this view, during 2023-2024 he established contact with Iranian officials via the Telegram app, until he was finally recruited by a foreign agent on behalf of Iran, who promised him a monthly payment of thousands of dollars and maintained continuous contact with him.
