Jerusalem, 9 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — In June 2025 the importation of cigarettes to Israel increased by 5%. The value of imports increased by a more significant 23.5%. This is according to the data released by the Israel Tax Authority.
In the period January – June 2025, there was an increase in quantity by 4% compared to January – June 2024 and an increase in import value of 17.4%. This is likely due to imports of more expensive cigarettes.
The import value of other tobacco, which includes smoking tobacco, hookah tobacco, pipe tobacco, cigars, and heating tobacco units, increased in June 2025 by 1.6% compared to June 2024. Cumulatively since the beginning of the year, there was an increase of 6.1%.
