Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion in Gaza No Longer Functions After Israeli Offensive Operations
Jerusalem, 7 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The IDF’s (Israel Defense Forces) Givati Infantry Brigade’s combat team operated last month in the Beit Hanoun area in the northern Gaza Strip, as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots.” As a result of the operation, Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion ceased to function as an organized terrorist force. The companies that made it up are no longer active, and the vast majority of terrorists operating in the area have been harmed, said the IDF.
In cooperation with the Israel Air Force, many targets were attacked, including military structures and observation and sniper positions that posed a threat to Israeli forces.
Also, in cooperation with the IDF’s Yahalom (Diamond) Combat Engineers Special Forces Unit, the Givati fighters destroyed dozens of tunnel shafts and several underground tunnels.
