Jerusalem, 2 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — An extensive renovation of the aircraft parking areas at Haifa Airport was recently been completed. The parking areas are used by passenger aircraft, mainly Air Haifa, and also by light aircraft.
The renovations took slightly longer than planned, said the Civil Aviation Authority, due to security constraints, and was carried out as a direct follow-up to the runway upgrade work completed last year. Together, the two projects result in a significant renewal of the airport’s infrastructure.
As part of the renovation, adjustments were made to the parking spaces, including strengthening the asphalt infrastructure and upgrading the marking and lighting equipment so that the parking spaces are adapted for safe operation day and night.
The next stage in the Haifa Airport development plan includes the paving of a new eastern runway and the construction of dedicated buildings for flight schools and inspection garages, which are expected to absorb some of the activity that will be transferred from Herzliya Airport.
