Gemtek Expands Fiber Portfolio with Israeli Silicon Photonics Collaboration

Jerusalem, 29 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Taiwan’s Gemtek Technology Co. Ltd announced a new 800Gbps Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) transceiver on Monday, developed with Israel’s NewPhotonics Ltd. The module uses NewPhotonics’ LPO+ transmitter-on-chip, designed for 800G and 1.6T networks, to deliver faster, more efficient connections for AI and cloud data centers.

Gemtek said the product will help meet rising demand for high-speed networking and support large-scale, cost-effective deployment.
