Ministry of Foreign Affairs Breaking News

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar will inaugurate tomorrow (Tuesday, 11 November 2025) Israel’s new embassy in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

This is the third new Israeli embassy to open this year at the decision of the Foreign Minister, following the openings of embassies in Moldova (in February) and Zambia (in August).

Estonia, a member of both the European Union and NATO, is one of the world’s leading countries in hi-tech and is considered a global pioneer in the digitalization of the public sector.

Israel and Estonia have maintained diplomatic relations since 1992, and Estonia has had an embassy in Israel since 2009.

During his visit to Estonia, FM Sa’ar will meet with Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Speaker of Parliament Lauri Hussar, Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, and defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.

FM Sa’ar will be accompanied by a high-level economic and business delegation that includes entrepreneurs and representatives of Israeli economic organizations. The delegation will focus on the fields of technology, cyber, and defense. Representatives of Israeli companies will hold business meetings with dozens of Estonian firms that have already registered for the business forum and have shown great interest in Israeli technologies.

The delegation, initiated by the Foreign Minister, is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Export Institute, the Ministry of defense, and the Manufacturers’ Association of Israel. It will also hold an economic forum co-chaired by Minister Sa’ar and Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.

On his way to Estonia, Minister Sa’ar will meet today (Monday) in Riga with Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braže.
