Jerusalem, 25 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A ten-and-a-half-year-old girl from central Israel has died from influenza, the Ministry of Health confirmed. The healthy child, who had received routine vaccinations but not the flu shot, was admitted to a hospital with fever and sore throat in critical condition and could not be resuscitated.
This is the first reported flu-related death in Israel this season, which has now crossed the epidemic threshold. Health authorities urge vaccination for everyone aged six months and older, particularly young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and chronically ill patients.
