Extension of Highway 6 Moves Forward
Highway 6 extension to northern Israel progresses with six bids submitted for construction, operation, and maintenance. The project aims to connect the north.
Jerusalem, 30 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The extension of Highway 6 to the north is progressing. Six leading Israeli and international groups have submitted bids in a tender for the construction, operation and maintenance of the section from the Somekh Interchange to Beit HaEmek.
Israel’s only toll road, Highway 6 bisects the center of the country on a north/south axis.
“The extension of the road will strengthen the connection between the north and the center of the country and will be a transportation, economic and social growth engine for the entire region,” said the Treasury.
The road is scheduled to open in 2030.
