Egg Smuggling Rink Broken Up, Four Arrested

Jerusalem, 25 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Four suspects were arrested Sunday for involvement in the smuggling of eggs into Israel from the areas of the Palestinian Authority.

The police said those involved are suspected of running a network for smuggling the eggs without veterinary supervision and then marketing and selling them to the general public within the State of Israel, while creating a “real risk” to public health, to the point of potentially causing life-threatening illness.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security emphasizes that eggs should only be purchased at organized points of sale, within a cooling chain.
