Following Hamas’ announcement of its intention to release the kidnapped soldier Edan Alexander on Monday afternoon, Israel is not expected to offer any concessions to Hamas in exchange for his release.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that Israel did not commit to a ceasefire or the release of imprisoned terrorists, but only to securing a safe corridor to facilitate the kidnapped soldier’s return. Officials stressed that this release, without concessions, is the result of Israel’s firm policy backed by President Donald Trump and the ongoing military pressure exerted by IDF forces in Gaza.
In Jerusalem, officials emphasize that these are critical days, with a deal currently on the table that could lead to the release of more hostages. Negotiations are set to continue under fire and alongside IDF’s preparations for expanded military operations.
