Jerusalem, 25 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — There was a decrease in the number of road accidents, fatalities and injuries in Israel in April 2025, compared to April 2024 and compared to the April average in 2023-2021, reported Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

In April 2025, 5 fewer people were killed compared to April 2024 (36 compared to 41, respectively), and 2 fewer deaths compared to the April average in 2023-2021 (38).

The number of seriously injured people decreased by 34.1% compared to April 2024 (166 compared to 252, respectively) and decreased by 29.4% compared to the April average in 2023-2021 (235).

The number of injured people decreased by 28.4% (954 compared to 1,333) and decreased by 44.2% compared to the April average in 2023-2021 (1,711).

The number of accidents decreased by 21.9% compared to April 2024 (553 compared to 708, respectively) and decreased by 39.1% compared to the average for April in 2021-2023 (908).

In addition, in April 2025, 2,626 accidents were reported to the police, which were classified by the CBS as “general with minor injuries”, in which 3,391 people were slightly injured. In contrast, in April 2024, 3,590 accidents of this type were reported to the police (a decrease of 26.9%), in which 4,676 people were slightly injured (a decrease of 27.5%).

The trend data for the number of injuries indicate that by April 2025, there was a decrease at an average rate of 1% per month.

Examining the trend data, it was found that the number of accidents with injuries is showing a decrease at a rate of 1.2% from December 2023 to April 2025, after an increase at a rate of 0.2% from June to November 2023.
