CPI Up 0.7% in August
Israel's CPI rises by 0.7% in August 2025, reaching 104.2 points. Notable price increases in culture and entertainment, transportation, and fresh vegetables.
Jerusalem, 18 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.7% in August 2025, compared to July 2025, reaching an index level of 104.2 points (base: average 2024=100.0 points). This was according to the data released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.
The CPI excluding vegetables and fruits and the Consumer Price Index excluding energy also increased by 0.7%, reaching an index level of 104.4 points, each.
The CPI excluding housing increased by 0.6%, reaching an index level of 103.7 points.
Notable price increases were recorded in the following categories: culture and entertainment, which rose by 2.9%, transportation and communication, which rose by 1.6%, fresh vegetables, which rose by 1.5%, housing, which rose by 0.8%, and home maintenance, which rose by 0.3%.
Notable price declines were recorded in the following categories: fresh fruit, which fell by 2.7%, clothing and footwear, which fell by 1.6%, and furniture and home furnishings, which fell by 0.5%.
Since the beginning of the year, the CPI and the CPI excluding energy have each increased by 3.2%. The CPI excluding fruits and vegetables has increased by 3.3% and the CPI excluding housing has increased by 3.0%.
Over the past twelve months (August 2025 compared to August 2024), the CPI increased by 2.9%. The CPI excluding fruits and vegetables and the CPI excluding energy increased by 3.1% each, and the CPI excluding housing increased by 2.4%.
