Car Imports Down in September

Jerusalem, 23 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Irael Tax Authority reported that in September 2025, imports of vehicles totaled 19,413 (private) compared to 21,697 in September 2024, a decrease of 10.5%.

Imports of commercial vehicles totaled 721 in September 2025, compared to 767 in September 2024, a decrease of 6.0%. Imports of passenger vehicles in September 2025 were apparently still affected by the massive advance in December 2024, to a much greater extent than in previous years.

In addition, the number of working days in September 2025 was lower than in September 2024 due to Rosh Hashanah.

In the period January – September 2025, imports of vehicles totaled 156,510, compared to 182,937 vehicles in the corresponding period last year, a decrease of 14.4%. As noted above, in December 2024 there was an advance of more than twice the volume of the advance in December 2023.

The trend data indicates a decline in passenger vehicle imports starting in early 2025.
