Bedouin Man Arrested for Incitement and Support of Hamas

Jerusalem, 25 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Following a covert investigation by the Israel Police’s Negev Regional Unit, a 19-year-old man from the Bedouin community has been indicted for posting content on social media expressing support for Hamas and its activities.

According to the indictment filed by the Southern District Attorney’s Office, the suspect shared messages quoting Hamas spokesperson Abu Obaida, mourned the deaths of militants, and disseminated propaganda videos against Israel.

The investigation included undercover monitoring and culminated in the suspect’s arrest at his home, followed by the collection of full evidentiary material. The indictment includes four counts of incitement to terrorism and expressing identification with a terrorist organization, along with a request for detention until the conclusion of proceedings.

The Israel Police stated it will continue to act firmly against anyone who incites terrorism or supports the enemy during wartime, while upholding the rule of law.
