Ban on Public Fires Imposed

Israel Fire Commissioner imposes ban on public fires until September 30. Lighting fires prohibited in open areas across Israel. Barbecue exceptions allowed.

Jerusalem, 18 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel Fire and Rescue Commissioner Eyal Caspi signed an order prohibiting the lighting of fires by virtue of his authority, starting Thursday, September 18, 2025, until Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at midnight.

The fire ban order applies to all of Israel, except for the area south of Highway 25 (the road connecting the Arava-Dimona-Beer Sheva-Netivot intersection), and prohibits the lighting of fires in open areas. Technical work that creates a fire or a fire will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the order.

Lighting a fire inside a designated facility for preparing or heating food, such as a barbecue, is permitted.
