Jerusalem, 21 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A premature infant died after contracting a bacterial infection in the Rambam Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit, the Haifa hospital said Sunday. Three other premature infants infected with the same bacteria are in stable condition and receiving antibiotics. Rambam’s neonatal unit and infection prevention team are investigating the source of the outbreak and have implemented measures to prevent further spread.
The hospital emphasized the incident is confined to the neonatal ward, posing no risk to other departments.
