Jerusalem, 15 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) revealed that the remains of the late Sergeant Major (res) Aviv Atsili was the second of the two bodies recovered in the Khan Yunis area in the Gaza Strip last week.
Aviv Atsili was a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz’s emergency alert squad who went out to fight terrorists on the morning of October 7 and was killed. His body was taken back to Gaza by terrorists from the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.
He was a father of three, 49 years old at the time of his death.
Atsili’s body was found together with that of slain hostage Yair Yaakov.
