Jerusalem, 30 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The municipality of Ashkelon denounced the Polish city Sopot on Sunday for severing a “twin city” relationship over the war in Gaza.
Sopot, a resort city on Poland’s Baltic coast, announced on Saturday it was ending the relationhip over what it called “genocide in Gazaa.” In response, Ashkelon said it would not maintain partnerships with cities whose perspective is “narrow, distorted and one-sided.” Ashkelon added that it will continue cooperating with twin cities that respect “the integrity and path of the Jewish people, the people of Israel in the Land of Israel.”
