Jerusalem, 24 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — In May 2025, 36 people were killed in traffic accidents in Israel, nine fewer deaths compared to May 2024 when there were 45, a 20% decrease. This is according to the data released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.
There were five more deaths compared to the monthly average for May in 2021-2023 when there were 31.
There were 598 accidents in May 2025, a decrease of 20.5% compared to May 2024 when there were 752, and a decrease of 34.4% compared to the monthly average for May in 2021-2023 which was 912.
The number of seriously injured in road accidents was 171, a decrease of 34.2% compared to May 2024 when it was 260, and a decrease of 29.6% compared to the May average in 2021-2023, which was 243.
The number of casualties was 1,018, a decrease of 20.1% compared to May 2024 when it was 1,274, and a decrease of 39% compared to the monthly average for May in 2021-2023, which was 1,670.
