Jerusalem, 24 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics released the data collection on financial responsibility – decision-making and tracking expenses, from the 2024 Social Survey.
The main goal of the survey is to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive measurement of the knowledge, behavior, and level of financial inclusion among the population in Israel. The survey will also examine the economic strength and resilience of households and identify gaps among different subpopulations.
Financial responsibility among those aged 20 and over:
26% are responsible for making day-to-day decisions about money in their household, 55% are jointly responsible with someone else, and 18% reported that someone else is responsible for making decisions.
Flow management:
73% manage and track the household’s income and expenses themselves: more men than women, more Jews than Arabs.
Using an app to track expenses:
52% use the app to track expenses: more Jews than Arabs, more young people than older people.
Using standing orders:
69% use standing orders for fixed expenses: more Jews than Arabs, more older people than young people.
