Jerusalem, 2 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli-Canadian philanthropist Sylvan Adams announced Sunday a $100 million donation to rebuild and modernize Soroka University Medical Center in Beer-Sheva after it was damaged during an Iranian missile strike in June. hostilities. Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the gift as “a tremendous response to the attack we suffered,” calling Adams’ initiative a major boost for Beer-Sheva and the Negev.
The donation will fund Soroka’s rehabilitation and transformation into a leading regional hospital, forming the centerpiece of a new government-backed plan to strengthen health infrastructure in southern Israel and support the absorption of up to one million new immigrants over the next five years.
