During the covert investigation phase, one of the defendants attempted to leave the country, and his arrest was carried out in January at Ben Gurion Airport. With the transition to an open investigation, investigators linked another defendant to the incident, the driver who smuggled the shooters, and carried out his arrest. With further progress in the investigation, Northern District Police tracked the locations of the additional defendants, who tried to find refuge in the Judea and Samaria region. Together with Border Police undercover operatives in Judea and Samaria, the additional defendants were located and arrested in a hotel in Qalqilya. An indictment will be filed against the four members of the cell, residents of the town of Deir Hanna (aged 18, 19, 28, 29).
