Escaped Prisoner Recaptured
Escaped prisoner recaptured by Israel Prison Service and Police after tearing electronic handcuff. Located at Eshel prison, suspect apprehended after attempting.
Jerusalem, 9 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In a combined operational activity by the Israel Prison Service with the assistance of the Israel Police, a supervised person who escaped from an electronic handcuff monitoring device in central Israel was arrested today.
The supervised person, who tore the electronic handcuff and escaped, was located by detectives when he arrived at the Eshel prison complex in the south to pick up a released prisoner. Upon being identified, the suspect attempted to escape, but was quickly apprehended by the force in a close-quarters operation and taken into custody.
