Jerusalem, 26 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel is set to lower Internet costs and expand fiber access nationwide under a new reform approved by Communications Minister Dr. Shlomo Kari. The regulations cut wholesale fiber rates by 20%, from NIS 72 to 58 ($23 to $18) with the reduction fixed for five years. The move is designed to increase competition among providers, incentivize large companies to build independent infrastructure, and strengthen smaller companies’ market presence.

Dr. Kari said the reform “promises faster, more stable, and cheaper internet” across the country, from the Negev to the Galilee.
